# Platform release notes

> Seed content for testing the `harness-release-notes-summary` integration inside a `release-notes/` subdirectory of the Sandbox space, mirroring the real production release-notes space's file layout (landing page + sibling module pages) instead of sitting loose among unrelated sandbox content. Copied verbatim from the live `release-notes/platform.md` page via the GitBook Content API on 2026-09-16, including the header levels (`###` month, `####` version) GitBook actually serves -- not the `##`/`###` levels an earlier seed of this file assumed. Safe to trim or remove once the integration is confirmed working here.

### September 2026

#### Version 1.163.x

* Added rate limiting for user invitation emails. Each account can now send a limited number of invitation emails within a rolling 24-hour window, based on its license edition -- 50 for **Free** and **Community**, 1000 for **Team**, **Startup**, and **DevOps Essentials**, and 5000 for **Enterprise** and **Essentials**. Invitations provisioned through SCIM or LDAP are exempt. \[PL-73850]

### August 2026

#### Version 1.162.x

**New features and enhancements**

* Updated the Harness sign-in page, a presentation-layer update to the Harness authentication flow screens. This does not change the configuration of the authentication flows. \[PL-71600]

**Fixed issues**

* Updated the Harness CLI onboarding documentation and the **Get Started** wizard, which referenced commands and features that no longer work. The wizard and docs now use the currently supported CLI syntax, and broken links and unsupported commands have been removed. \[PL-67535]

#### Version 1.161.x

**New features and enhancements**

* Introduced **Usage Analytics**, a new in-app, centralized dashboard that shows how deeply teams adopt each Harness module, helping customers validate real usage. This feature is behind the feature flag `PL_ENABLE_USAGE_ANALYTICS`. Contact Harness Support to enable it. \[PL-65816]

**Fixed issues**

* Fixed an issue where changing scope from **Template Studio** or a settings page failed with a `RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND_EXCEPTION` error. Harness now resolves the target scope without carrying over the current entity identifier, so you land on the equivalent page in the new scope. \[PL-70296]
* Fixed an issue where the Harness application intermittently crashed and displayed a **Something went wrong** error page that required a page refresh. This was resolved by changing how routing is inherently handled on the Harness UI. \[PL-72349]

### July 2026

#### Version 1.160.x

**Fixed issues**

* Improved SCIM user group provisioning to prevent identifier collisions that could lead to incorrect group membership and access permissions. \[PL-71916]

#### Version 1.159.x

**Fixed issues**

* The Plans page is no longer discoverable from the Harness UI and has been removed from the navigation. \[PL-72987]

#### Version 1.158.x

**Fixed issues**

* Fixed an issue where editing notification rules displayed incorrect project-scoped service account identifiers. Project-scoped service accounts now use the same identifier format in both create and edit flows, ensuring service account names and links are rendered correctly across all scopes. \[PL-71149]

#### Version 1.157.x

**New features and enhancements**

* Added support for project IDs in dynamic `gcpsecretsmanager://` JEXL expressions, enabling cross-project access to Google Cloud Secret Manager secrets. You can now reference secrets using the format: `<+secrets.getValue('account.gcpsecretsmanager://<connector>/<project-id>/<secret-name>/latest')>`. \[PL-72546]

#### Version 1.156.x

No enhancements or fixes were released in this cycle.

#### Version 1.155.x

**New features and enhancements**

* Added the ability to clone an existing **Resource Group** directly from the UI, enabling faster RBAC configuration by reusing existing resource selections and scope as a baseline. \[PL-72549]
* Added the ability to clone an existing **Access Control role** directly from the UI, so new roles can start with the same permissions as an existing role. \[PL-72530]
